I was remodeling our old (I mean OLD...like 1920s) bathroom. I wish someone hadn't removed the original pedestal sink in there, but they did...and damaged the subway tile and baseboard tile on the wall behind it. The other person put in a cheapo prefab vanity with one of those plastic "marble" sinks...which had cigarette burns and scratches...not too nice! I didn't want to buy and entire new vanity, especially with old plumbing and odd fitting with the baseboard (original) tile. Then there is leveling and cutting for drains etc. etc. and I didn't want to get in to all that. So i had to find a way to make something old (and not very expensive) into something nice.
This vanity top fit the bill perfectly! It fit my standard 30 inch pre-fab vanity and I just needed to change the top. I did stain the whatever-wood to a dark cherry (which matches my original door) and changed the junky plastic handles to...Read more
