Decolav 9296-SN Grid Drain without Overflow, Satin Nickel

The Decolav grid is a nice looking grid that is well built. Bought two brushed nickel finish and installed it onto two vessel sinks without overflow. The drain is a good price online. Other drains in stores typically cost $50 to $80. The drain has a longer threaded tube than most others. This is very useful for those people like me who are mounting over the counter vessel sinks, with mounting ring on top of a 1.5inch or more granite counter. The nut at the bottom has plenty of thread to screw and lock into.
The downside is that the drain holes do not drain well (on both drains). Water typically starts collecting in the sink and slowly rises. I believe that this has to do with the shape of the drain holes, size and air bubbles that get trapped underneath preventing water from draining. The Kohler drain has tear drop shaped holes on a surface that is mound like and has been reported to drain very well. This is a very good deal for a rubbed bronze drain. It is well constructed and the color is good. Only issue is the small holes make it drain very slow.

We ordered this for a vessel sink we were installing. Looks and works great!
