While researching what to do re. replacing a faucet and drain in a bath sink w/o an overflow, I finally (and thankfully!) came upon this Moen Pop-Up Waste Kit, in the finish I wanted, as well...This works perfectly and all I did was to select a faucet to go along with this, replace that waste/drain kit part with this pop-up one and disabled/just put in for "show" the lift lever in the back of the faucet. Whew! Problem solved, and with good Moen quality at very reasonable prices for each the pop-up drain here, and a matching Moen faucet I found elsewhere, in same finish of oil rubbed bronze...I'm no plumber, and am I glad this worked out so very well! (Our builder whom we employed to build our house @ 7 years ago, had put in a faucet with an overflow drain kit -- but the sink had no provision for overflow! Finally, I realized why we had had a perpetual leak! Wasn't going back to try to find him now, and didn't want high plumbing bills, so did it myself and it worked!Sigh of relief!)
